We've touched upon our goals for automation in other sections, but here we'll go into specifics. 

Information Security: From the ground up, we have seen to it that our computer systems are locked down. Our entire network is wired, encrypted and all wireless transmitters in the building are disabled

Process control software: If its true that good decisions are made with good information, then it could be argued that without it, good decisions aren't made. It's on this line of reasoning that I base my insistence for consistent, granular data acquisition. Every act in the shop is timed and tracked. The ERP software even monitors the time files are open and in use and the machine tools report programs run along with the run and setup time so we get a very accurate report of the cost of every facet of every work order.

Design and programming software: We utilize the latest versions of Solidworks and Mastercam.

Machine tools: Our current machine was purchased used, but was nearly new at the time of our acquisition  and hopefully, all future equipment will be purchased new.
